Hey Squad 👋
Welcome to the first issue of Remote Squad! 🚀
I said “see ya later” to the corporate world 6 years ago in search of a flexible, fun lifestyle where I could work on my own schedule. 🌴🤙
I’ve been working remote ever since and can't imagine ever going back to the office!
The only thing I’ve missed: community.
Enter: Remote Squad. 🎉
My vision is a global network of remote workers who connect, share wisdom, get the latest news, discover hot destinations, and even better job postings.
This newsletter will always be short, snappy, loaded with wisdom and free forever. 👏
Help us grow by sharing the love!

Kering Employees Strike in Italy, Demand More Remote Work Days: French luxury giant faces employee backlash over cutback on remote work from two days to one.
The return-to-office paradox, and other trends in jobs and skills this month: Widespread corporate mandates for a return to the office are colliding with strong employee demand for flexibility. Remote or hybrid work increasingly offers greater productivity, wellbeing, and talent retention.
A Tim Ferris Hack for 10X Results 🚀
If you work remotely, chances are you've read Tim Ferris' epic book The 4-Hour Work Week. It's the book that helped me quit my corporate job and live life on my own terms.
One of the top tips? The 80/20 rule to maximise your output.
Tim is ruthless. But his technique works.
The 80/20 analysis is this:
Discover where 80% of your results are coming from. Then focussing deeply on these things.
Chances are, 80% of your results are coming from only 20% of your output. It’s known as the Pareto principle. When you do this, you’ll probably discover just how unproductive you’ve been all this time.
Ask these questions:
What 20% of work is driving 80% of my income?
Which clients are leading to the most results?
Which clients/work/projects are yielding little to no success?
Now, to apply the analysis: Quit low performers
Yep! You read that right. This is the ruthless bit.
Cut the slack.
Get rid of 80% (or as much as you can manage) of the low-performers. Remove your low-yield clients to focus on the stronger group.
Tim says that most of our time is wasted trying to convert clients (sales, work, projects) that will never good returns.
Meanwhile, we focus too little energy on the highest performers.
Realigning your focus not only gives you a chance to save time — but also helps you double down on quality.
Be as ruthless as you can within the confines of your role. If you work for a company, don’t ask for permission. Focus on your high-performing tasks — then, when you increase your ROI go and show your boss the data.
Don’t forget to ask for a raise. 🔥
Remember: Applying the 80/20 principle is an investment in yourself.
